INTENSE PERENNIAL RYEGRASS.

 

Intense perennial ryegrass is a new dark green ryegrass from Landmark Seed Company in the USA. It is one of the best ryegrass for overseeding, and is a hard wearing variety selected for turf quality and gray leafspot tolerance. This turf seed is best suited for use on heavy-use sports fields, golf course tees, and for lawns that demand turf quality as well as disease resistance and exceptional wear tolerance.

DESCRIPTION

Intense ryegrass has a very dark green colour and a fine leaf texture. Its ability to tolerate a low height of cut, and as a high wear ryegrass, make Intense an excellent companion in seed mixtures used for establishing professional turf as well as overseeding both cool and warm season grasses. Intense is adapted to the cool-season zone and transition zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

APPLICATION

• Golf course fairways, tees, and roughs, sports turf, lawn and landscaping. Ideal for overseeding warm season turf in shade.

Cool-season and transition zones, and is one of the best ryegrass for overseeding of couch grass turf in warm-season zones. Ideal for zones 1,2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

INDEPENDENT TRIAL RESULTS.

  • Intense is one of the top performing ryegrass varieties in the 2021 NTEP ryegrass seed trials.
  • In trials at Adelphia, NJ on a sandy loam, in full sun and under irrigation, Intense had significantly higher wear tolerance than Allstar 3.
  • Intense perennial ryegrass has sigificantly better gray leaf spot resistance than Allstar 3.
  • Intense has a significantly darker green colour than Allstar 3.
