ProForce Weed Blast MA Herbicide.

ProForce Weed Blast MA Herbicide is a post-emergent broadleaf herbicide for use on a range of established turfgrass species. This includes Couch, Qld Blue Couch, Kikuyu, Paspalum, Buffalo, Fescue, Bent and Ryegrass.

ProForce Weed Blast MA contains 200 g/L Bromoxynil and 200g/L MCPA, so it has both contact and systemic activity to provide more effective weed control.

Weed Blast MA controls broadleaf weeds quickly, with visible results achieved in 7-14 days.

MCPA

MCPA is a selective phenoxy herbicide that controls broad-leaf weeds but not grass weeds. It mimicks the action of the plant growth hormone auxin, and is taken up through the leaf and then translocates to the meristems of the plant. The result is uncontrolled, unsustainable growth that results in stem curl-over, leaf withering, and eventual plant death.

MCPA is more selective than 2,4-D, but it requires less 2,4-D to control many annuals. It persists 2–3 months in soil, whereas 2,4-D persists about 1 month.

Bromoxynil.

Bromoxynil, is a fast-acting nitrile herbicide that works on contact, and inhibits photosynthesis in the target plants. It is often used with other herbicides to increase the spectrum of weed control. The compound is readily taken into leaves with little to no downward movement to other plant parts. Susceptible weeds quickly die from the build-up of molecules that destroy cell membranes.

What ProForce Weed Blast MA is good at.

Getting the Best Results from ProForce Weed Blast MA

  • Best results are on actively growing weeds. Avoid application to plants suffering from stress.
  • Do not use when rain seems likely to occur within 4 hours.
  • Avoid application when weeds are wet with dew or rain or under stress from drought, low soil fertility, extreme cold or waterlogging.
  • Do not use if frosts are evident.
  • Apply evenly over the target area, and don't use with air induction nozzles as they may impact on uniformity of application.
  • Do not mow turf for two days before or after application or fertilise within two weeks of use.
  • Avoid use in high temperatures, as it can effect desirable turf species.
  • Use of an adjuvant will enhance active ingredient movement into the plant, improve rainfastness and herbicide performance. We recommend the use of ProForce Scrubwet.
  • Don’t apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.
  • Do not graze or cut for stock food for 8 weeks after use.
  • Weed Blast MA Herbicide can be tank mixed with Destro 375 Herbicide to give better weed control.

  • When should I apply my lawn pre emergent?

The best time to apply these products is in the early spring as this is before broadleaf weeds begin to grow. For grass weeds like summer grass apply later say in late spring or early summer. This weeds germinate later, so by applying your pre emergent later you will get longer control.
  • What is a turf herbicide?

Turf herbicides, also known as weedkillers are pesticides used to control and manage undesirable plants. It is important that when you use a turf herbicide that you precisely follow the label directions. If you don't do this then the herbicide may fail to control the target weed, damage the turf grass or even prevent you from being able to reseed or re-turf damaged areas. Turf herbicides can be:
    • Selective or non selective. Selective turf herbicides are able to specifically target the weed without damaging the desirable turf grass. Non selective turf herbicides kill everything.
    • Pre emergent or post emergent. Pre emergent turf herbicides prevent weeds from growing and becoming and are used before weeds grow. Post emergent kill weeds after they have emerged.
    • Work against broadleaf weeds or grass weeds.
